About Therapy

Individual Treatment

When you contact me, we will begin with a brief phone conversation so that I can learn about your concerns, answer any questions you may have, and determine whether my services are a good fit for your needs. During this call, we will also discuss fees, scheduling, and how we might work together. If we decide to move forward, we will schedule an initial 50-minute appointment, and I will send you intake forms to complete before our first meeting.

During our first session, we will review the information you provided and discuss your current concerns, relevant background, and goals for therapy. I will explain the therapy process, answer any questions you may have, and make sure you feel comfortable with what to expect. Together, we will begin developing a plan that reflects your needs, strengths, and priorities.

In later sessions, our work will become increasingly focused on the concerns and goals that brought you to therapy. Depending on your needs, our sessions may involve discussion, skill-building, problem-solving, behavioral exercises, or other evidence-based approaches designed to support meaningful change.

Group Programs

If you are interested in one of my groups, we will discuss the group's focus, structure, and enrollment process. My groups are time-limited and typically meet for 1–2 hours per week over the course of approximately eight weeks. In most cases, group participants are not also engaged in individual therapy with me. Once a group begins, it meets at the same day and time each week.

Examples of past groups include:

  • Adjusting to Life After Vision Loss

  • Epilepsy Self-Management

  • Chronic Pain Management

  • Social Skills Development

  • Navigating Life After Brain Injury (Survivors Group)

  • Adjusting to Life After Stroke (Separate Survivor and Caregiver Groups)
